Update on COVID-19

Following the recent developments resulting from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have been closely following the advice of the government public health officials including the CDC and the WHO.

The safety of our partners, attendees, speakers and employees remains of the utmost importance to Chambers and Partners and therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the Chambers Diversity and Inclusion Awards: North America 2020.

The event is now scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2020.

As a result, the new deadline for submissions is Monday, April 6, 2020. We hope that given the circumstances and the work restrictions they might have caused, this extension will give everyone enough time to be able to submit their nominations.

Overview

The Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards represent the culmination of our research and celebrate those firms and individuals who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion across the USA and Canada. Over the past six years, we have conducted research and hosted diversity seminars across the USA, including events and awards in New York and Miami. We are pleased to announce that our charity partner will be MLDI – Media Legal Defence Initiative.

These awards provide the opportunity to shine the spotlight on role models and trailblazers in pro bono and corporate social responsibility as well as inclusion. Last year’s awards welcomed more than 300 attendees with categories covering all strands of D&I.

Our host for the evening will be our Diversity & Inclusion Director, Dee Sekar. As a UK-based lawyer, Dee is a passionate advocate for inclusion and pro bono in the legal profession and leads the global D&I programme at Chambers. She has moderated and spoken at events in the USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
